Cybersecurity & Fraud Prevention

Thursday, February 15, 2024
12:00-1:15 p.m.
Southbury Town Hall, 501 Main Street South, Room 205

Think your business is too small to worry about cyberattacks? Think again. Small businesses are the most likely to receive malicious emails targeting them at a rate of one in 323. Small businesses with under 250 employees tend to be more susceptible to email threats like phishing, spam, and malware. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, as they say, so you cannot afford to miss this.

Our 2nd Small Business Seminar will cover:

Cybersecurity - the practice of protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks. These cyberattacks are usually aimed at accessing, changing, or destroying sensitive information; extorting money from users via ransomware; or interrupting normal business processes.

Fraud Prevention - the process and/or measures taken by businesses to protect themselves and their customers from fraudulent activities. This can include everything from implementing anti-fraud policies and procedures to using software that detects and prevents fraudulent activity.

Free admission but registration is required - register below. Registration deadline: Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

Hosted by: Newtown Savings Bank and Southbury Economic Development Commission. Lunch provided by Nardelli’s of Southbury.
